Elon Musk Is Ready To Install Computers In Human Brains, Super humans In Making!

Elon Reeve Musk is born on June 28, 1971, is a South African-born Canadian-American business magnate, investor, engineer, and inventor.

He is the founder, CEO, and CTO of "SpaceX' co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla Inc. co-founder and chairman of Solar City; co-chairman of OpenAI; co-founder of Zip2; and founder of X.com, which merged with Confinity and took the name PayPal. As of March 2017, he has an estimated net worth of 13.9 billion, making him the 80th wealthiest person in the world. In December 2016, Musk was ranked 21st on Forbes list of The World's Most Powerful People.

Apparently Elon Musk isn’t busy enough. The Tesla and Space X CEO has started yet another company, Neuralink, which aims to make implants for the human brain that can be wirelessly interface with a computer, the Wall Street Journal reported today.

The technology, according to Musk — who brought up the idea at Recode’s Code Conference last year — is a “digital layer” located above the cortex, built into the brain. Musk calls the technology, which would intertwine computers and the human brain, “neural lace.”

Neural lace could help humans keep apace with rapidly accelerating advancements in artificial intelligence, which Musk said will cause humanity to “be left behind by a lot.” With the help of brain implants that are directly linked to computers, humans may be able to improve their brain function, or even one day download their thoughts or upload the thinking of others.

In the more near term, neural lace technology could be used to treat brain diseases like epilepsy or Parkinson’s.
Neuralink registered as a “medical research” company in California last summer, with a person named Jared Birchall listed at the President, CEO and CFO of the company.

Recode reached out to Elon Musk to learn more about his involvement in Neuralink, but did not immediately hear back.

He proposed the 'direct cortical interface,' which is a process of creating a connection between cortical cortex with the multielectrode array. This process will allow the human brain to work at full efficiency. This will solve to operate many brain problems, overcome depression and to improve the efficiency of an individual. The fact that human brain is full of complexity, this project may take a while to be a success.

The fundamental limitation is input/output. We’re already a cyborg, I mean we have a digital or partial version of yourself in the form of your emails and your social media and all the things that you do. You have basically superpowers with your computer and your phone and the applications that they have. You have more power than the president of the united states have had 20 years ago. you can answer any question, you can videoconference with anyone anywhere, you can send a message to anyone instantly, you can just do incredible things. But the constraint is input/output. We’re Input/Output bound – particularly output bound. Our output level is so low, particularly on a phone, your two thumbs sort of tapping away. This is ridiculously slow. Our input is much better because we have a high-bandwidth visual interface to the brain, our eyes take in a lot of data. So there is many orders of magnitude difference between input and output. Effectively merging in a symbiotic way with digital intelligence revolves around eliminating the Input/Output constraint, which would be some sort of direct cortical interface "a neural lace'.

Though it is totally not clear what Neuralink will exactly deal with, the involvement of "neural lace" technology definitely indicates the installation of a device which can help in controlling the human brain and enhancing it at the same time. There are many projects currently working around the world, but due to abandoned issues, the progress is minimal.

According to a statement published in WSJ "Your output level is so low, particularly on the phone, your two thumbs just tapping away," he said. "This is ridiculously slow. Our input is much better because we have a high bandwidth visual interface into the brain. Our eyes take in a lot of data.

Elon Musk already indicated the introduction of Neuralink. In reply to a tweet, Elon indicated that the official announcement about the Neuralink could be made in a month or so. Though there are still no official words, it is said that the 100% of the funding for the new venture will be made by Musk alone.

In an interview given to CNBC, Elon Musk indicated that the advancement in AI will lead to less requirement of human force and if the human brain can merge with AI in any manner, it will improve the human control over brain.

Billion dollar market

With the companies like Tesla Motors, SpaceX doing well for Musk, Neuralink may be another big boost for him. Also, with very less or no competitors in the market for neural lace technology, Neuralink has a wide potential to explore.

According to WSJ, Neuralink initially will look to make progress to fight brain diseases epilepsy or depression, which is a billion dollar market. Also, the company may, later on, move to cosmetic brain surgeries if the technology is found safe and the company seeks the Government's approval.
